CEREC uses computer-aided design (CAD) to create restorations such as crowns, bridges, onlays, and inlays. They are used to replace broken or missing teeth due to decay or trauma, and to restore the aesthetics of your smile.
CEREC restorations are milled from a solid piece of color-matched ceramic. This makes them much more durable with an extremely accurate fit compared to the traditional restorations that depended on impressions, plaster models, and layered metal and porcelain. CEREC relies on 3D digital imaging, proprietary software, and 3D printing to design the perfect crown to fit with your natural teeth. The results are nothing less than stunning!
Getting a CEREC crown involves a one-appointment visit to our Naples dental office. We prepare the tooth, digitally scan your mouth, design your restoration, and fabricate and place the crown all in the same day. No wearing a temporary crown and no waiting weeks for a second appointment.
Once you have your CEREC restoration, you’ll need to care for it as you would the rest of your teeth. Brush and floss every day, and get regular cleanings with your hygienist at Oak Tree Dentistry. This will help ensure the longevity of your crown and a high level of oral health for years to come.
